Explorer Racing is sponsored by Monroe County Fire Explorers Association. Our team consists of members from our Explorer Post 667, and is coached and supervised by Point Pleasant Explorer Post Advisors, and assisted by drill team and association members. Explorer racing is much like the N.Y.S. Drill Team Racing except that they don't run motorized races or climb ladders. They use 1-1/2 inch single-jacket hose and practice and compete on our track. Western New York explorer racing has been on and off the past two decades, with teams from Ridge-Culver, Chili, Spencerport, Main-Transit, and North Greece all making appearances. The Explorer Team won the W.N.Y. Championship in 2002. The team did not race in 2004 - 2006. They made a strong appearance in 2007, however a lack of interest in the county has resulted in there being short 2008 & 2009 seasons.
